Honeywell gas meters (PHMSA grant): The council approved a sole‑source procurement of Honeywell American gas meters from Measurement Control Systems for $640,244. Staff said about 95% of the city’s existing meters are Honeywell units and the meters integrate with the city’s existing automatic meter‑reading system. The city was awarded a Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration grant of approximately $1,007,000 covering meters plus funding for two full‑time gas employees (salaries and benefits) while they work on installation.
