Wymore council approves JEO water-main replacement project and authorizes bids

The Wymore City Council voted unanimously on Dec. 17 to move forward with a JEO-designed water-main improvement covering several downtown blocks and to advertise the project for competitive bids.
Leah Boudreau of JEO outlined the scope: replacement of water mains on 11th Street from C to M, M Street from 10th to 11th, and 10th Street from M to L, switching the system to 8-inch PVC pipe. Councilmember Max Allen moved to approve proceeding with JEO on the project; Councilmember Sue Sapp seconded, and the motion carried 4-0. The council then authorized the clerk to advertise for bids for the project, also on a 4-0 vote.
No project costs, funding sources or timetable were provided during the meeting. The council’s approval authorizes JEO to commit to design and for the city to solicit contractor bids; further contract awards, grant applications or bonding would be pending future council action.
