Wymore Park Board proposes pool pay raises; council signals support

Meyer said, "Jacque Borzekofski has agreed to be the Pool Manager again, for an increase in wage to $20.00 an hour and being able to have a say in the hiring of the Assistant Manager." She said the Park Board recommends raising base wages for supervisors and lifeguards by $1.00 and a $0.25 increase for returning employees while leaving concession-worker base pay at $8.00 per hour as an incentive to recruit lifeguards.
Council members indicated they were in favor of the changes and discussed the possibility of future wage increases, but they did not approve a formal pay ordinance or adopt a wage schedule at the meeting. The council’s approval would be required for any binding change to pay rates or budget allocations.
Park staff and the board framed the proposal as both a recruitment and retention step for lifeguards and supervisors ahead of the summer season. No specific funding source or budget amendment was approved on Feb. 4.
