Metropolitan Council adopts new pay plans for general, health and public-safety employees

The Metropolitan Council of Nashville and Davidson County on Tuesday approved three separate resolutions that update pay plans for city employees, the Board of Health and Police and Fire personnel, all effective July 1.
All three measures — RS2026-2004 for general employees, RS2026-2005 for Metropolitan Board of Health employees and RS2026-2006 for Police and Fire — were moved, seconded and passed without discussion. The roll calls recorded six in favor, zero against and zero not voting for the first two measures; the resolution for Police and Fire was likewise approved with six in favor, zero against and zero not voting.
The resolutions were read into the record as part of the meeting’s consent or routine business and contain the new pay-plan language to take effect on July 1. No fiscal-analysis details, amendments or dissent were recorded during the motions and votes.
The council did not provide additional debate on implementation steps or department-level rollouts during the session. The council proceeded to subsequent agenda items after adopting the pay-plan resolutions.
