The Wymore City Council on Feb. 18 heard a police department report noting the department is under audit for a third consecutive year, invited two Police Department Advisory Committee members into a closed session and went into executive session to discuss an individual matter.
During the Police Department report, Mark Meints told the council the department "is being audited again for the 3rd year in a row." The Police Department Advisory Committee reported no substantive updates while the current application process is pending. Tim Anderson, introduced as a guest who has worked in law enforcement since 2001, told the council his commute from Marysville to Wymore would take about 18 minutes.
Councilmember Neil Van Boening moved, and Councilmember Max Allen seconded, to invite advisory committee members Lisa Munstermann and Ted Huls into the evening’s executive session; the motion passed. Later the council, on motion by Max Allen seconded by Curt Oblinger, entered executive session at 7:28 p.m. "for the protection of the public interest and the prevention of needless injury to the reputation of an individual," and the council returned to open session at 8:55 p.m. The minutes do not record the content of the closed discussion, consistent with statutory confidentiality for personnel and reputation matters.
The meeting adjourned at 8:58 p.m.
