Delavan council approves playground, park restroom, water main contract and several ordinance changes

Key approvals included a $120,778.40 purchase from Lee Recreation of Cambridge for a playground replacement at Springs Park (procured through the Sourcewell contract); a $543,495 contract award to Gilbank Construction for utility extension and construction of an Aiden Park restroom structure; and a West Washington Street water‑main replacement contract awarded to Wanasek Corporation (Burlington, Wisconsin) for up to $447,744 with a 5% contingency to cover potential scope changes.
Council also approved a resolution amending the City of Delavan’s building permit fee schedule, approved warrant 2026‑05, and moved to renew liquor licenses for 2026‑2027 subject to confirmation applicants meet city building codes and have no outstanding debts to wholesalers or unpaid city invoices or taxes. The council adopted a resolution declaring official intent to reimburse expenditures for a new water tower from borrowing proceeds and approved a grant agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Administration.
Several items were approved by roll call votes with council members recorded as voting in the affirmative during the meeting. A mayoral nomination of Chris Lofy to the Public Safety Commission was announced and required no council vote. The council also approved the 2025 compliance maintenance annual report by resolution.
