Greenways for Nashville outlines ambassador program, map updates and community events

Morgan described three programmatic areas: convening (listening sessions with community members and developers to inform standardized processes), advocacy (a new 'greenways connectors' advisory group of 19 community advisers representing different corridor segments across Davidson County) and community building (events, a public calendar and tools to empower neighborhood organizers). She said the organization is working to update an online map that would show greenways in development and the stage of design so residents can more easily track projects and get involved.
Commissioners pressed for transparency in funding and project status after Morgan explained a participatory-budget allocation for a greenway extension was reallocated by Metro Parks when the project could not be completed within the grant window. BPAC members and Morgan discussed opportunities for clearer signage, trailhead restoration and the potential for quick-build on-road connections where full greenways are not immediately feasible.
Morgan said the organization is also planning events to demonstrate greenways as transit options and is leading a fundraising push to support map enhancements and programming.
She invited commissioners to engage with the connectors advisory group and offered to share recommendations and design materials with BPAC.
