The CHSD 155 Board of Education on a unanimous roll call approved board bills totaling $14.5 million covering the period May 13 through June 9, district officials said.
Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations and Chief School Business Official Dr. Warner told the board May’s ending fund balance was $81.9 million and that district premiums were down relative to the larger cooperative pool, crediting proactive loss control and human resources claims management for favorable results. "This exceptional outcome is the direct result of proactive loss control and internal control efforts," Dr. Warner said, and he publicly recognized extended operations and human resources teams for their work.
Dr. Warner asked the board to approve the bills — about $8.1 million in payroll-related items and roughly $6.44 million in vendor payments — and a motion to approve the bills was made and adopted by roll call. The board subsequently adopted routine fiscal resolutions: appointing the district CSBO as treasurer for July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027, and designating bank depositories for 2026–27, both actions described in the meeting as consistent with Illinois school code and approved by roll call.
In human resources business, the assistant superintendent of human resources reported that 24 employees are recommended for tenure and said those staff will be recognized on opening day next year. The board approved the personnel report as listed on the agenda by roll call.
Other routine agenda items approved included a motion authorizing board members to attend the IASB/ISA/IASBO joint annual conference in Chicago November 20–22, 2026, with travel and hotel reimbursement (up to two nights) and non-alcohol meal expenses covered under board policy 2125.
The board then moved into executive session to discuss personnel and probable litigation matters under the Illinois Open Meetings Act; meeting officials stated they did not expect any action following the closed session.
