Lower Pottsgrove staff outlines Community Day and Summer Concert Series plans; new Ringing Rocks sign expected

Administrative Assistant Samantha Cronrath told the Lower Pottsgrove Township Parks and Recreation Board on July 28, 2025, that planning for the 2025 Community Day is underway and that staff have compiled a vendor list, are collecting certificates of insurance, invoices and W-9s, and have secured a good number of volunteers. Cronrath said she scheduled a coordination meeting with the township manager and police to review Community Day details.
Cronrath outlined attractions planned for Community Day, including a balloon artist, a face painter, two characters, a bounce house, a hayride, a petting zoo, Home Depot crafts and the township's usual crafts and vendors. She said she has a rough vendor layout and is managing logistics.
On the Summer Concert Series, Cronrath reported that the program is underway and generally successful; she noted there was an early-season problem with limited water that was corrected the following week and that no further issues have been reported. Board member Thomas C. Troutman suggested the concert flyer include a short description of each band's music style; Thomas Orlando agreed that would be useful for next season's marketing.
Under new business, Cronrath presented a two-sided mock-up for a new Ringing Rocks sign and said the sign was expected to be delivered on Aug. 8; she will coordinate delivery with Shane from Public Works.
The board also handled routine business: Brian Ward moved to approve the Feb. 24 meeting minutes; Thomas Orlando seconded and the board approved the motion 3-0. Orlando later moved to adjourn; Troutman seconded and the meeting ended at 6:46 p.m. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Aug. 25 at 6:30 p.m.
Note on meeting date: the meeting record contains both "July 28" and "April 28" references; the board's scheduled next meeting of Aug. 25 and the timing of spring/early-summer public-works activity indicate the session occurred on July 28.
