Lower Pottsgrove reports road, park repairs and winter preparations

Lower Pottsgrove staff told the Parks & Recreation Board on Nov. 25 that Public Works completed a series of October–November repairs and preparations — from pothole patching and manhole replacements to installing picnic tables and replacing a restroom roof — and removed 14 stumps at the municipal complex.
Samantha Cronrath, administrative assistant for Lower Pottsgrove Township, told the Parks and Recreation Board on Nov. 25 that township Public Works crews completed a range of maintenance and repairs in October and November.
Cronrath said crews elevated trees for snow season, cut roadside vegetation, patched potholes, replaced two sewer manholes (on Rockwood Court and Woodmere Road), performed road repairs in the Woodgate development, and completed line painting and stop bars across the township. She also reported two new picnic tables installed at Gerald Richards Park and a new roof on the Sanatoga Park bathroom building. At the municipal complex (1963 E. High St.) crews removed 14 stumps.
In November work included brush hogging on the Schuylkill Park Trail and behind Sanatoga Park’s soccer field, two pavement repair patches on North Valley Road, sinkhole repair on Centennial Court, and supervision of milling and base coat work on the upper portion of Hilltop Road.
The board approved the Oct. 28, 2024 meeting minutes earlier in the session (motion by Brian Ward, seconded by Thomas C. Troutman; vote 3-0). The meeting adjourned at 6:49 p.m.; the next regular meeting is scheduled for Jan. 27, 2025.
The maintenance items described are operational actions carried out by township Public Works and do not represent new policy decisions; Cronrath said the work responds to routine seasonal and safety needs and to preparation for spring and summer events.
