Contour Airlines outlines passenger growth and possible new destinations for Page

Contour Airlines presented service data and potential new destinations to the Page City Council on Oct. 22, saying the carrier has nearly doubled passenger volumes since initial operations and that flights into Page are arriving on time about 85% of the time, the company representative said.

The president of Contour (identified as Ben) reviewed the carrier’s partnerships with American, Alaska and United, noting those agreements expand booking and connectivity options for Page travelers. ‘‘Folks are getting to their destination 85% of the time on Contour,’’ the presenter said, citing year‑to‑date on‑time performance figures and a completion factor that Contour said is high for a regional operator.

Contour said it currently operates 12 flights per week into Page and that the baseline schedule can flex seasonally; the airline described a model that dedicates specific aircraft and crew to the Page market to improve reliability. The company said it is exploring adding seasonal service to Denver, and plans to re‑enter Las Vegas and begin service to Los Angeles in the first quarter of next year if community demand supports those routes.

Council members asked for more regular performance reporting and for improved customer communications when flights are canceled or delayed. Contour said it has added reservations and customer‑service staffing and launched a customer‑support center this year to improve response during irregular operations.

What happens next: Contour offered to provide monthly or quarterly operational reports to the city’s airport board and to work with community leaders and consultants on scheduling and destination choices. Any new route proposals would be implemented under the contract limits and federal authorizations that govern the airport’s service program.
