Ruth Mellor read the Parks Foundation report to the advisory board on Jan. 14. The report noted a request from Ryan Graham to change the foundation’s process so board members must provide receipts for all cash monies received from the Parks Department (for example, donations collected in a donation box).
The foundation reported fundraising activity tied to the county’s Christmas Candlelight walks: $188 collected from a donation basket and $62 in other donations across two nights. Board members discussed future projects the foundation might support and noted that departmental staff changes and project needs will shape priorities for the coming year.
The Parks Foundation’s next meeting and the advisory board’s next meeting were noted: the advisory board will meet Jan. 21, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at the Heritage Museum.
