Lower Pottsgrove parks board updates Sanatoga pavilion, confirms concert series and cancels July meeting

The Lower Pottsgrove Township Parks and Recreation Board met on June 24, 2024, and approved the March 24 meeting minutes, heard staff updates on park projects and events, and agreed to cancel the July 22 meeting. The session began at 6:31 p.m. and adjourned at 6:55 p.m.
Amy Henderson, a township staff member, told the board that the Public Works Department had removed storm debris from all parks, painted ADA parking markings for the new pavilion at Sanatoga Park, installed picnic tables, grills and trash cans, and cut grass across township parks. Henderson said picnic tables, grills and trash cans are in place at the Sanatoga pavilion and that electricity for the pavilion should be installed later in the week; once electrical work is completed, she said, the Sanatoga project will be finished. Henderson added that work on the Ringing Rocks Park grant project will begin after Sanatoga is complete.
Thomas Orlando, a committee member, moved to approve the March 24, 2024 meeting minutes; Brian Ward seconded and the board voted 4-0 to adopt the minutes. Later in the meeting, Orlando moved to adjourn and Ward seconded; that motion also passed 4-0.
Henderson confirmed the township’s Summer Concert Series schedule, beginning June 30: Bill Koss Combo (June 30), Jump Start Music Duo (July 7), Flaming Dick's (July 14), Barefoot Bobby and the Breakers (July 21), Stephanie Grace (July 28) and Pottsgrove Alumni (August 4). She also announced Community Day is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, at Lower Pottsgrove Elementary; staff are seeking volunteers and contacting past vendors about participation.
When Henderson asked whether the board wanted to cancel the July 22 meeting, the members present agreed to cancel it. The board set its next regular meeting for Monday, Aug. 26, 2024, at 6:30 p.m.
At the meeting staff reported operational updates and project timelines; no ordinances, contracts or grant approvals requiring votes were presented. The meeting record was signed by Edward C. Wagner, township manager, as noted in the meeting minutes.
