Lower Pottsgrove Parks Board secures $9,500 in sponsorships for Community Day, finalizes Summer Concert plans

Lower Pottsgrove Township's Parks and Recreation Board reported on funding and programming for two major summer events at its April 28 meeting.
Administrative Assistant Samantha Cronrath said Constellation Nuclear has pledged $7,500 toward Community Day, with Allen Myers and PECO each promising $1,000. Cronrath said Constellation requested a flyer and a billing address before finalizing its contribution and that staff will follow up to complete the donation.
With those commitments, Cronrath said organizers plan family attractions including a bounce house, a petting zoo, hayrides, a DJ returning at last year’s rate, and entertainment such as a face painter and balloon artist. She also said the band Livewire will use its performance as a fundraiser for the Adventure Grove playground project.
"With the additional funding, I would be looking to do both a face painter and a balloon artist," Cronrath said.
The board confirmed J.P. Mascaro will cover sponsorship for the Summer Concert Series. Cronrath said the concert lineup is fully booked and that contracts have been returned and are awaiting signature from the Township Manager. She added the plan to allocate about $500 of Community Day proceeds to buy water for the concert series.
Board members praised staff for pulling together sponsors and programming; Thomas Orlando noted he did not recall the township receiving this level of sponsorship in past years. Cronrath said staff will continue confirming vendors and logistics ahead of the events.
The board did not take a formal vote on event programming at the meeting; items reported by staff will proceed pending final paperwork and any required manager approvals.
