Richmond panel readies Checker House parking for May 15 seasonal opening, considers QR‑linked signs

Members proposed adding a QR code or website link so visitors can access the ordinance text and suggested drafting simpler wording that can be reused at multiple sign locations.
Pete was identified as the member who would handle stakes and permitting logistics; members said Pete or town staff would coordinate any permit approval meetings. The group discussed avoiding permanent trash barrels to prevent ongoing maintenance obligations while adding signage to discourage littering.
Volunteers (including John and another member) agreed to draft sign wording and possible waterproof vinyl stickers with QR codes and run the drafts by Pete and town staff. Members also discussed contacting local trail stewards and volunteers (including Giles) to coordinate cleanup and public‑education efforts.
The committee approved the Feb. 10 minutes later in the meeting and scheduled the next meeting for April 7, when members expect to have counsel’s guidance on ethics questions and further updates on Checker House preparations.
