Richmond Select Board elects new chair, confirms secretary and routine appointments

The Richmond Select Board elected Jay as chair and Adam Wood as vice chair during its March 17 meeting, following the board's annual reorganization procedures. Jay was nominated and the board approved the motion by roll call.
The board appointed Administrative Assistant Lyn Carolo as the Selectboard secretary on a temporary basis through the end of June, at the town manager’s recommendation. Lyn Carolo has been taking minutes since last summer; the appointment will be revisited when her temporary employment ends.
The board also reappointed Lori Brisman as delinquent tax collector; Brisman said she has served in the role for 15 years and wants to continue assisting residents and the town. Members approved the appointment by recorded vote.
In addition the board designated the Burlington Free Press, Times Inc, Williston Observer and Seven Days as Richmond’s official newspapers for publishing legally required notices. Board members said the designations reflect longstanding practice and statutory requirements for regularly published newspapers.
The actions followed a brief public-comment period and a routine roll-call of votes. The board closed the reorganization items and proceeded with the rest of its agenda.
