Tol said the work would include surfacing, access repairs and construction of a parallel multiuse facility where practical. The project would set the trail to a 16‑foot width standard in selected segments to maintain multiuse access and allow maintenance equipment to operate safely, he said.
Commissioners signaled broad support for the project and discussed TIP eligibility and whether trail repairs fit the program’s recreational‑infrastructure priorities. One commissioner urged the club to expand regional outreach to increase visitation and revenue so the group would need fewer repeat requests.
The board approved the appropriation as part of the meeting’s resolutions (recorded as Resolution 26117). The motion passed with unanimous support from those present; a roll‑call tally was not read into the public discussion.
