The Parker Parks & Recreation Committee voted on April 14 to approve hosting a summer recreation program and to post the coordinating position so candidates can be interviewed at the committee’s next meeting.
The committee discussed program length, coordination with Parker High School’s summer schedule, meal provisions and past attendance levels. Members noted that the program historically ran as two-week sessions in June and July and that organizers provided lunch at nearby Blake when needed. Committee members said the posting should specify dates, hours and compensation so applicants present clear plans at the May interviews.
A liaison recommended posting the job and coordinating with the town clerk and town manager for budget confirmation before final hiring. Committee members agreed and moved to approve both hosting the program and posting the position; the motion was seconded and approved.
What happens next: the committee asked staff to post the coordinator position online and on social media, collect applications and schedule candidate interviews for the May meeting so the committee can select the program lead and finalize program logistics.
