Parker council accepts state reimbursement grant for park security cameras

Chief Bailey told the council the award funds a second phase of a broader security project and said the department has already purchased and begun installing equipment at Western Park with prior-year grant funding. He said the current award is reimbursable and "there is no fiscal impact to the town," and that the police department will follow the commission's reimbursement requirements after purchases are made.
Chief Bailey reported the award amount as read into the record (transcript read "approximately $55,36125"). The council formally moved and seconded acceptance of the grant and then approved the action.
The grant covers purchase and installation of cameras and lighting as part of a two-park project; town staff said installation at Western Park has begun and work at Pop Harvey Park is the second phase to be completed following approval.
