River Ridge CDD accepts supervisor resignation, outlines appointment process for Seat 1

The River Ridge Community Development District board accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman from Seat 1 (term through Nov. 2026) at its Aug. 27 meeting and outlined the process to fill the unexpired term.
District Manager Cleo Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter. The board voted to accept the resignation. Because the replacement will be an appointment to fill the unexpired term, the board directed staff and The Meadows’ property-owner association manager to e-blast residents about the vacancy, candidate qualification requirements and the request for interested residents to submit resumes or letters of interest prior to the next meeting.
The board noted the appointment will not be conducted as an election and that required onboarding materials—such as the oath of office, required ethics training information, Form 1 instructions and the Guide to the Sunshine Amendment—will be included in the candidate package. The item was recorded for future action at the next meeting.
