Broken Bow council appoints zoning administrators, Park Board members and updates bank signers

The Broken Bow City Council on May 23 approved several personnel appointments and updated authorized banking signers.
The council appointed Jacob Holcomb as Zoning Administrator in a motion by Paul Holland, seconded by Russ Smith; the motion passed on a roll-call vote of Holland, Smith and David Baltz. The council also appointed City Administrator David Schmidt as Zoning Co-Administrator in a separate motion by David Baltz, seconded by Paul Holland, which carried unanimously among those present.
For the Park Board the council appointed Kelvin Kreitman and Josh Page to terms ending February 2026 after a motion from Holland that Smith seconded. The council also approved a slate of authorized signers for City accounts at Bruning Bank and Nebraska State Bank: Mayor Rod Sonnichsen, City Administrator David Schmidt, City Clerk Kandi K. Peters, Deputy Clerk Jacob Holcomb, Treasurer Megan Linn and Council President David Baltz. The council authorized Police Chief Steve Scott as a signer for specific accounts at Nebraska State Bank and Utility Clerk Katie Hogg as a signer on designated utility accounts.
The council later approved Mayor Sonnichsen, City Administrator Schmidt and City Clerk Peters as authorized names on the City safety deposit box at First Interstate Bank. All recorded motions were approved by roll-call votes of the members present. These personnel and signer authorizations were recorded as motions and carried at the meeting.
