Summary
Tommy Lachance told the RSU 23 board the baseball team has raised $7,000 toward a Florida trip and needs roughly $8,000 more; a major silent-auction fundraiser is planned for March 18. Coaches and players would cover any remaining costs, and academic eligibility is a prerequisite for participation.

Tommy Lachance updated the RSU 23 board on the high-school baseball team's planned trip to Florida, saying flights and facility deposits are paid through fundraising and that the district is not contributing to the trip. The team has raised approximately $7,000 and still needs about $8,000; its largest fundraiser is a silent auction on March 18 (Brunswick, 2:00-6:00). Lachance told the board that if the team falls short the remaining costs would be divided between coaches and players and that academic standards for participation were discussed at the team's initial meeting.
Separately, Gabe reported that the winter formal would be held the following night (Feb. 17) and that both girls' and boys' basketball teams qualified for state tournaments, with the girls scheduled to play Feb. 21 in Augusta.
