Suttie praised maintenance and custodial staff for extended work during the recent storms, singling out Mark Beaudoin, Glen Gilbert and Dick Martin for early starts and late shifts and noting that four public-works employees worked overnight to help ensure students could get to school. He said principals Mark Beaudoin and Lucas Porter, together with district administration, are developing a more cohesive student pickup and parent sign-out plan at Loranger and Jameson to improve traffic flow and safety.
The superintendent asked the public to await further details from him or building principals about any calendar changes. The board's discussion emphasized student safety and logistics; no formal action to change the calendar was taken at the meeting. The district's budget process continues, with building-administrator budget presentations scheduled Feb. 29 and special-education, maintenance and transportation presentations on March 1; the public budget meeting is set for April 10.
