County staff reviewed proposals for Phase 2 of the highway department build-out and recommended awarding professional design services to Widseth (architects and engineers). Staff compared Widseth’s proposal to a previously discussed $230,000 quote and noted Widseth’s price is lower; the board approved Widseth’s professional-services proposal for $143,165.
Staff and the county engineer (Larry) said the schedule would likely target a mid- to late-October release for construction documents and a tentative November bid award. Commissioners also discussed minor scope items not requiring architect involvement — like installing a flagpole — and agreed those could be procured separately.
On motion and second the board approved the design contract and directed staff to move forward with contracting and timeline coordination.
