Post Clinic asks Mount Sterling council for funding after state ends malpractice reimbursement

Roberts introduced board members and staff — including Kate Green, Zoey Pierce, Dr. Jennifer Jones and Drs. Frank and Tonya Kendrick — and said the Post Clinic is seeking city assistance to cover the added insurance burden so it can continue offering free clinic services.
Council members did not vote or commit funding during the meeting; the presentation was a request for assistance and to notify the council of the clinic's changed financial situation. Speakers clarified that the change relates to state malpractice reimbursement for clinics with paid personnel and to insurance-premium taxation that affects overall clinic costs.
The council did not take formal action on the funding request during the meeting; staff follow-up or a future agenda item would be required for any appropriation.
