Little Egg Harbor committee approves consent agenda, tables several ordinances and appointments

The Little Egg Harbor Township Committee approved a consent agenda May 14 that included shared-services fuel agreements, personnel appointments and a bill payment resolution totaling $13,578,091.59.

Township Clerk Kelly Lettera read consent resolutions covering items from shared-services fuel contracts (2026-120; 2026-147–149) to subdivision guarantee releases and local events authorization. The bill-payment resolution (2026-156) passed on a roll call that recorded the three members present — Deputy Mayor Maxwell, Committeeman Scibetta and Mayor Kenneth Laney — and listed abstentions on specific invoice numbers; the transcript does not attribute those abstentions to individual members.

Several personnel and appointment resolutions were moved to executive session at the request of Township Attorney Melanie Appleby and were tabled for post-session action. Ordinances 2026-08 and 2026-10, originally scheduled for second reading and adoption, were tabled to the June 11 meeting because the attorney said an unexpected emergency left the committee without a full quorum.

On reconvening after executive session, the committee tabled Resolutions 2026-134, 2026-139 and 2026-140 until the next meeting and approved Resolution 126-158, authorizing a settlement agreement in Ventures, S.M.E., Inc. v. Ghahary and removal of Tax Sale Certificate No. 95-0068 for Block 189.01, Lot 21.

The committee also moved and approved routine requests for bingo and raffle permits and accepted several resignations and retirements with payout authorizations recorded on the consent agenda. The committee recorded its formal motions and roll-call votes in the official minutes.
