Rush Valley council adopts tentative 2026'27 budget, schedules June 17 hearing

The Rush Valley Town Council adopted a tentative budget for fiscal year 2026'27 at its May 27 meeting and scheduled a public hearing and final adoption for June 17, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.
Councilmember Dana Gardner moved to adopt the tentative budget and Councilmember Jeremiah Harding seconded. Mayor Johnson reviewed projected revenues and expenditures, calling out building permit revenues, B&C road funds, fire-department grants and reimbursements, cemetery and park budgets and anticipated road paving expenditures. Council discussion included the potential for a tourism grant to support restoration work at Clover Church. The motion carried with all present voting in favor.
The council also voted to set the date for the June budget meeting; Councilmember Harding moved to set the date and Councilmember Gardner seconded. The council approved routine financial motions later in the meeting, including authorizing payment of May bills and approving a bid to replace ten tires on a water tender.
