Council directs attorney to draft property-exchange resolution for relocated livestock truck scale

A representative of the Livestock Market said the proposed site appeared comparable but cautioned that excavation might uncover unexpected issues; the representative emphasized the project’s time sensitivity because concrete has been ordered and contractors scheduled and the market needs to be operational by June. City Attorney Edmunds said he could prepare the necessary resolution and related documents in roughly two weeks so the matter could be considered at the next meeting.
Council Member Scott DeBock moved to have the City Attorney draft the resolution to exchange properties; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously. The attorney will return the draft to council for action at a subsequent meeting.
