Rhea County Commission approves multiple budget amendments, reallocations

The package included County General (Fund 101) amendments numbered 104–114 with line-item reallocations and purchases: $2,517 from the sessions court data-processing reserve (Amend. 104); $19,875.68 for traffic-control reimbursement (Amend. 105); $3,759 for replacement of the jail’s NVR camera server (Amend. 106); a $146,592.64 year‑end cleanup adjustment (Amend. 107); $943 for office supplies (Amend. 108); $3,156 reallocated to a medical insurance grant line (Amend. 109); $1,500 moved to a grant salary line (Amend. 110); $78,838.35 reallocated to cover an expenditure line (Amend. 111); $19,900 from a drug reserve for a utility side‑by‑side vehicle (Amend. 112); and a $50,000 contribution toward the veterans park (Amend. 113). Amendment 114 ($700) covered fairgrounds proceeds.
Commissioners also approved an amendment in Fund 141 (schools), Amendment 21, to allocate $340,250 in additional revenue to cover FY26 school budget needs.
The commission approved the committee’s recommendations by roll-call vote. The meeting record shows the secretary conducting roll calls for each motion.
What happens next: the approved transfers and allocations will be recorded in the county’s fiscal accounts and implemented by the appropriate departments and grant administrators. The commission scheduled a called budget meeting on the 30th at 5:00 p.m. and a 6:00 p.m. session for year‑end cleanup and any remaining business.
