Commission approves budget amendments and a three-year school maintenance note not to exceed $4.2 million

The Cheatham County Legislative Body approved a slate of budget amendments across the General Fund and Solid Waste/Sanitation fund and authorized school financing May 20.
Director of Accounts Sandrine Batts presented detailed line-item amendments affecting jail accounts, library funding, county mayor/executive lines, sheriff’s department, election commission, EMS, courthouse security and others. The General Fund amendments were approved by roll call vote 12–0 and the Solid Waste amendment (landfill operation and maintenance $7,978) was also approved 12–0.
Budget committee members also moved to authorize a three-year School Maintenance Capital Outlay Note not to exceed $4,200,000; the School Board and Education votes supporting the note were recorded and the measure passed by roll call vote 12–0 (Resolution 14). The committee also approved extending the deadline to adopt the proposed FY2019–20 budget from May 20 to June 5.
