The Williston Board of City Commissioners approved two equipment purchases during its Dec. 8 meeting.
Director of Public Works Monte Meiers reported Sanitation Products was the lone bidder for a 3‑wheel, front-dump, hydraulically driven boom street sweeper at $145,452; after a $15,000 trade-in of a 1995 Elgin P-Single, the net price is $130,452. The commission voted 4-0 (Klug absent at the time) to purchase the sweeper and gave staff the option to sell the equipment to a contractor.
Meiers also reported one bid for a horizontal baler with hydraulic box dumper from Apex Equipment LLC at $79,060; after a $2,500 trade-in for a 1997 Selco/Harris V5‑HD, the net price is $76,560 (budgeted $80,000). The commission accepted that bid on a 4-0 vote. Both motions carried as recorded in the meeting minutes.
