Armstrong County names new appointees to advisory and workforce boards

The board unanimously approved a slate of appointments and reappointments on June 4.
On the recommendation of Elections Director James Webb, the board appointed Gage Mortimer of Kittanning to the Friends of the Belmont Board for a term beginning June 4, 2026, and ending Aug. 7, 2026. The board reappointed Marilyn Smail of Leechburg and Cynthia Perpich of Ford City to the Children, Youth & Family Services Advisory Committee for two-year terms expiring Dec. 31, 2027. The board also appointed Michael Luetkenhaus, president and chief operating officer of Herkules USA Corp., of Ford City, to the Tri-County Workforce Development Board in the business category for a term through Sept. 30, 2029.
All appointments were moved by Commissioner Anthony G. Shea, seconded by Commissioner Pat Fabian and approved unanimously. The meeting minutes list mailing addresses for appointees but do not record discussion about qualifications or competing nominees.
