City announces wildland fire townhall May 14 and reports clubhouse bids; council extends meeting

City Manager Laura Philpot provided administrative updates at the April 14 meeting, announcing traveling State of the City presentations and other scheduling items. Administrative Services Director and Emergency Manager Shaunna Bisesto said the city will hold a Wildland Fire Preparedness and Education townhall on May 14 at Lake Wilderness Lodge to inform residents about fire risks and preparedness.
Parks & Recreation Director Dave Johnson reported on bids received for the Lake Wilderness Golf Course clubhouse project; staff will continue evaluating bids and return recommendations to Council. Finance Director Aaron Antin reported that the city earned the Government Finance Officers Association Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for 2025–2026.
Councilmember Victoria Schroff moved and Councilmember Syd Dawson seconded a motion to extend the meeting to 10:00 p.m.; the motion carried, 6-0. No policy actions were taken from the updates; staff will follow up with details on the townhall and with bid analyses for the clubhouse project.
