Carson Connector microtransit logs 5,000 rides in first two weeks, city reports

City staff told the Fountain City Council on June 16 that the Carson Connector microtransit service, which launched June 1 to serve Fort Carson, carried more than 5,000 riders in its first two weeks.
"In the first two weeks, we've carried over 5,000 riders," Mr. Nock E. reported, adding that the service has averaged about a 6.2‑minute wait time and a 98.3% on‑time pickup rate. He said many single soldiers and barracks residents are using the service to travel between dining facilities and other post locations.
Nock E. also reported the city currently supports 17 active sustainment, restoration and modernization construction projects on Fort Carson totaling more than $4 million so far this year, and he praised city staff and contractors for quickly deploying the microtransit vehicles with Fountain City branding on the post.
City officials said early ridership indicates the service could exceed the department’s normal annual ridership in a matter of months if current demand continues. No fare or long‑term funding changes were presented at the meeting.
