The Maple Valley City Council voted 7-0 on March 24 to adopt Ordinance No. O-25-846, which amends the city’s 2025–2026 salary schedule.
Human Resources/Risk Management Director Julie Hunsaker reintroduced the ordinance, which adds a new salary range labeled “AB” and places the City Engineer and Deputy Director of Parks and Recreation into that range. The ordinance also moves the Sr. Budget Analyst classification from range “E” to range “D” with commensurate pay and adds a Public Works and Parks Maintenance Worker III classification to range “H.”
Councilmember Didem Pierson moved approval; Deputy Mayor Dana Parnello seconded. The minutes record the motion as carried 7-0.
