Maple Valley council approves consent calendar, authorizes inmate housing and salmon-conservation interlocals

The Maple Valley City Council on March 24 approved its consent calendar, including vendor and payroll payments totaling $923,972.39 and three interlocal agreements that the city said will support regional services and watershed planning.

The consent calendar included: approval of meeting minutes; vendor and benefit checks and payroll and direct-deposit transactions listed in the minutes totaling $923,972.39; Resolution No. R-25-1944 to authorize the City Manager to execute an interlocal agreement with the City of Enumclaw to allow Maple Valley inmate housing at the Enumclaw Correctional Facility; and Resolution Nos. R-25-1961 and R-25-1962 to authorize participation in WRIA 8 and WRIA 9 interlocal agreements for chinook salmon conservation planning for the 2026–2035 planning period.

Councilmember John Herbert moved to approve the consent calendar, Councilmember Didem Pierson seconded, and the motion carried by a 7-0 vote. The minutes record the vote outcome as “Motion carried, 7-0.”

The minutes list the vendor and payroll ranges approved (vendor checks 34205–34239, wire transfers 907497–907554, electronic funds transfers 954278–954320, payroll checks and direct deposits as provided) and note no voided checks.
