The School Town of Highland board approved a 1.5% salary increase for administrative and classified staff for the 2026–27 school year and extended recommended administrator contracts by one year.
Dr. Smith told trustees she recommended a 1.5% increase to provide parity with teacher contract timing and to avoid retroactive payroll complications. She noted teacher contract adjustments were negotiated last September on a two-year deal and that these administrative/classified increases allow timely July 1 implementation.
Trustees moved and approved the recommended increases and later approved extending corporationwide administrators’ contracts through June 30, 2028 (the contracts previously expired June 30, 2027). The board recorded votes in the meeting minutes; motions passed as recorded.
Why it matters: the approved increase affects pay for administrators and classified staff across the district and sets contract expiration dates for central administrators.
Provenance: salary recommendation and motion recorded at SEG 756–801; contract-extension recommendation and vote at SEG 802–817.
