Town staff (Pete) said the moratorium will give the town time to evaluate the current code and explore options — including a possible 'no-knock' list — before resuming license issuance. The board opened a public hearing on the proposed local law; no members of the public spoke on the item. After discussion the board adopted local law PH2026-02 by motion and voice vote.
The moratorium is intended as a temporary pause to allow the town to propose and consider code amendments; no specific amendments or a timeline for returning draft language were announced at the meeting.
