Bradley Road Bridge reaches about 75% as crews pour 630 cubic yards of deck

"We're doing one part of the job that we've all been waiting for. That's pouring this deck to this bridge. It's about 630 cubic yards that we're going to be pouring today, which is actually going to bring us to about 75% completion of the project," Don Sharp said.
The update said crews began work early in the morning; Gabriella noted crews were on site at 4:00 a.m. Sharp also detailed the reinforcing steel going into the deck, saying there is "almost 200,000 pounds of rebar" on the deck and that underground and ancillary tasks were being coordinated alongside the pour.
Sharp described ongoing coordination with agencies and contractors after encountering unexpected underground elements. "All the agencies and all the complications that we've had, all the impediments to some of our underground, finding things that we didn't know were there — they're working well with us and we're able to streamline through all the efforts of coordination and getting the job done and keeping it on schedule," he said.
Gabriella and Sharp also explained a visible slant on the deck. Sharp said the slant is a designed "crown" used so surface water sheets off to the sides and drains into the gutters and storm system, improving roadway drainage and safety.
Sharp gave a target completion date: "September 22nd is our goal and our contractor is 100% committed to meeting that goal." The transcript did not name the contractor company or specify project funding sources.
The presenter closed by thanking the crews for working in heat and early hours and by linking the project to other local improvements such as the Holland Overpass. The update framed the pour as a major milestone toward a safer, better-connected city.
