Commission highlights Preservation Month, schedules workshop after $5,000 donation

Commissioner Dee Bright announced a preservation workshop scheduled for June 25–28 to continue restoration work on a historic floor; she asked for volunteers and named Jackie Woven and Paul Sutherland (the city building inspector) as contacts for the effort.
Bright also announced that the Preservation Society donated $5,000 to purchase additional supplies for the workshop. The commission thanked the donor and invited community members interested in preservation to get in touch through Cassie Dishman or commissioners. The workshop and donation were presented as community‑building and hands‑on preservation opportunities rather than regulatory actions.
The commission adjourned after brief additional commissioner remarks and scheduling routine business for the next meeting.
