A Waukesha City committee canceled its meeting after members determined they did not have enough members present to proceed. "Unfortunately, we're gonna call the meeting tonight because we don't have enough people to hold the meeting, and everything will be brought up at our next meeting," the Chair said.
The decision followed repeated attempts to reach absent members by phone and text and a discussion that substitutions or swearing in replacements on the spot were not permitted. Committee members noted the agenda was large — one participant said the docket already showed 57 items — and that postponing the meeting would move those items to the next gathering.
Committee members confirmed the next regular meeting date as Oct. 6 and said a special meeting could be scheduled if necessary. Multiple participants reiterated the Oct. 6 date when the Chair asked about the calendar.
Staff and members advised attendees to provide contact information on the sign-in sheet so they could be notified of any rescheduling. The committee did not take formal votes or make motions before adjourning without conducting the scheduled business.
