Director Fisher emphasized the role of public feedback in the choice. “I read literally hundreds of responses and it truly drove our decision,” Fisher said, noting the board reviewed both survey comments and in‑person feedback when comparing finalists.
The board described the search as involving students, staff, parents and community members. Finalists participated in a full day of interviews and meetings with district leaders, students and community groups, the board said. The process also included a community forum and surveys that the board said produced several hundred responses.
The meeting record did not specify an effective start date for Dr. Wenzel or further employment terms. Board members thanked district staff who managed logistics for the search, and the superintendent thanked student representatives who assisted with candidate interviews.
