Retired nutrition services worker says she felt overlooked after 35.5 years of service

Lisa Staley addressed the board during public comment as a recently retired Classified Nutrition Services employee, recounting a 35.5-year career in the district and saying she felt overlooked when HR did not notify her about recognition at the end of her service.
Staley described starting at Village Elementary and later serving as the districts first CNS district lead, and said the late notice of the retirement incentive process caused stress around the timing of her announcement. "The absence of recognition has left me feeling overlooked and under valued," she said.
Trustees offered brief statements thanking Staley for her decades of service, apologized for the apparent oversight, and said they would seek more information and follow up. The superintendent also expressed regret and praised Staleys work.
No formal board action was taken on the recognition issue during the meeting; trustees indicated intent to investigate and follow up with Staley and HR.
