Marlborough parks director previews spring and summer programs, bids and bookings

Bull recapped recent and upcoming events: the Easter Egg Hunt on March 28 drew families who stayed to use the playground; the Kid's Fishing Derby is scheduled for Saturday, May 2 from 9–11 a.m. with prizes for biggest, smallest, first and most fish caught; and Netto Camp registration opened April 1 with a schedule of trips and theme days and 10 counselors committed for the summer.
Operational and capital notes: the bid for new basketball hoops is open until April 20, and Bull said he will provide a timeline once a bid is awarded. Kayak slips for the summer are sold out. Bull also reported the pavilion rental season is picking up and the commission has booked a seven-concert summer series at Blish Park on Thursdays at 6 p.m., beginning June 25.
