At a public hearing held June 15, the Town of Middletown Board of License Commission voted to grant the transfer of the Class B/V liquor license for Tito’s Cantina, 651 West Main Road, to Plaza Alta Group LLC. Owner Kathy Arciello told the board she is retiring after 38 years and that long-time employee Alex Lopez will buy and operate the business under the same name.
Arciello and the applicant answered procedural questions from the board; no objections were raised from the public or Zoom attendees. The board approved the transfer and later reconvened as the town council to continue the meeting. The council also granted the victualer’s (food-service) license for the coming licensing year, subject to building, fire marshal and health approvals.
