Summary
The ADRB provided preliminary feedback on a large Contemporary proposal at 210 Uplands Drive and recorded a recusal by Board member Bill Neidig during the meeting; staff later determined the recusal was based on a misidentification and there were no grounds for recusal.

The Architecture and Design Review Board reviewed preliminary plans for a large Contemporary-style residence at 210 Uplands Drive on April 6 and noted concerns about the project’s commercial appearance and massing.
Applicant Marta Marques presented a concept totaling 11,299 square feet on a roughly 78,737-square-foot lot. Board members recommended reducing repetitive architectural elements, adding more residential-style details, breaking up massing and reconsidering the front-facing garage; they also requested renderings that include landscape to better evaluate context.
Board member Bill Neidig recused himself from consideration of this item during the meeting. The minutes record that, following the meeting, staff determined they had misidentified the parties and that there were no grounds for recusal; therefore, the initial recusal was unnecessary.
No formal action was taken; the item remains at the preliminary review stage and the applicant was asked to return with refined materials.
