The Town of Hillsborough Architecture and Design Review Board voted unanimously April 6 to approve a major remodel and style change for the residence at 190 Tobin Clark Drive.
Architect Mike Burgess presented an updated design that changes the existing 8,820-square-foot Mediterranean-style house into a Modern-style structure, adding about 2,772 square feet for a total of approximately 13,589 square feet (the maximum allowed on the lot is 14,506.35 square feet). Board members said the revised plan was a clear improvement over the previous structure and supported the proposed landscape improvements.
On a motion by Board member Breigh McCall, seconded by Mia Maddalena, the board approved the project “based on the project’s consistency with the Residential Design Guidelines, and subject to the Standard Conditions of Approval, and conditions of approval listed in the Staff memo.” The roll-call vote was unanimous (Gill, Maddalena, McCall, Neidig, Filer).
The approval is conditioned on the standard and staff-listed conditions; staff will verify those requirements as the project advances through permitting.
