Board pushes back on car-wash concept at 99 W. Townline, asks petitioner to revise plans

Trustees and residents raised repeated concerns about the proposal's removal of on-site parking proximate to Mallister's and the effect that would have on a full-service restaurant that has historically relied on nearby parking. Trustees repeatedly noted the plan, as drawn, would "pigeonhole" who could use the Mallister's site in the future and could deter sit-down restaurant tenants. Traffic and egress on Townline Road and the Victory Center/Philip Road connections were also flagged as unresolved.
On an informal poll, a majority of trustees said they did not support the concept in its presented form and asked the petitioner to revise the plan (alternatives discussed included full-property redevelopment or smaller-footprint users such as drive-through coffee). The petitioner said they would return with revised options.
