Legislature rescinds earlier transit authorization, approves larger Section 5311 buses and mobility-management grant

Franklin County rescinded an earlier June 2 resolution and approved a revised Section 5311 Mass Transportation capital project on June 16 to purchase buses and fund mobility management, certifying a project cap of $504,495 and a local share of $50,449.50.
Franklin County officials moved to correct and expand a previously adopted transit authorization.
At the June 2 meeting the Legislature adopted Resolution No. 154 to sign a Section 5311 capital project agreement for purchase of buses with a stated project cap not to exceed $225,000 and an estimated local share of $22,500. On June 16 the Legislature determined the earlier resolution omitted mobility management language and contained an incorrect local-share figure. The body rescinded Resolution No. 154 (Resolution No. 167) and adopted Resolution No. 168, which authorizes the Chairman to sign agreements with the State of New York for purchase of buses and mobility management (five-year agreement), with a project cap of $504,495 and a certified local share of $50,449.50 drawn from existing revenues.
The motions to rescind and to adopt the corrected resolution passed unanimously. The resolutions require the Chairman, upon County Attorney review, to execute State agreements and any necessary vendor or subcontractor contracts to complete the project.
