Wymore council sets tax levy, approves ACH agreement and travel; several check approvals recorded

At its Sept. 4 meeting, the Wymore City Council took a series of routine administrative actions, including setting the 2024–25 tax levy, approving banking and training items, and recording several check approvals with noted abstentions.
Council set the tax levy at 0.852509 for fiscal year 2024–25, a rate the clerk said keeps the city’s tax request under the state 2% lid; the motion passed unanimously. The council authorized City Clerk Janet Riensche to register for the League of Nebraska Municipalities (LONM) annual conference recordings. Treasurer Krystal Rutti asked to sign a new ACH agreement with Western National Bank to allow automatic utility withdrawals for customers who bank out of town; the council approved the ACH agreement.
The council approved sending four Wymore Fire Department members to the Nebraska State Volunteer Firefighters Association conference in Gering, Oct. 17–19, and agreed to pay 50% of registration, hotel, mileage and meals up to $50 per day. Several city claims and payroll were approved; three checks (#28776, #28784 and #28797) were approved separately with recorded abstentions: Max Allen abstained on check #28776, Neil Van Boening abstained on check #28784 and Curt Oblinger abstained on check #28797.
